Smart thermostats were also common. I once rented a bungalow with a little windup timer in the thermostat. You could set it for up to 12 hours to keep the heater off at night.
Cool! What fun they were having then. I imagine most people were amazed with all the gadgets and tech… and obviously those that were weary of it too. Some things are so very different from back then, and others quite similar!
